Teaching assignment: Teachers will be assigned to their areas of training, expertise and interest as per the needs of the school.

Hours of instruction: Classes at CBC – Zibo typically begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. with a mid-morning “exercise break” of 1/2 hour and a mid-day break of 2 hours or more. Most classes are semestered and occur in 80-minute blocks with teachers usually teaching 3-4 blocks per day.

Zibo No. 10 Middle School and Surrounding Area: Zibo No. 11 Middle School has a population of about 4000 students and 350 teachers. Many students are housed in campus dormitories. The campus has a stadium, track, and gymnasium facility as well as various science and computer labs. Also on campus are staff and student dining halls, a small supermarket, and a medical clinic.

Zibo No. 10 Middle School is located about 20 minutes by bus from the city centre.  The campus has many high rise apartment buildings within walking distance, and all necessary amenities nearby. A shopping mall with a large supermarket, banks, restaurants, and many shops are a short bus or taxi ride from the school. The housing available to teachers is furnished, apartment-style and within walking distance.

Transportation to nearby cities of interest is readily accessible from Zibo. The beach city of Qingdao can be reached in about 2 hours by fast train. Beijing and Jinan (the city of springs) also are well connected to Zibo by fast train. Tai Shan is one of five sacred Taoist mountains in China. It is located in central Shandong Province and makes a comfortable long weekend excursion from Zibo. Canada British Columbia International Schools – Zibo: CBC – Zibo is housed on the 4th and 5th floors of the International Building. Each classroom in equipped with an instructional computer, projector and document reader. The school has a 32-station computer lab, a small BC library, and various offices for teachers and support staff. Teachers are provided with office work space, laptop computers and access to printers and a photocopier. CBC – Zibo also has access to various science labs and sports facilities.

CBC – Zibo is fully supplied with BC textbooks and teacher resources for all subjects taught, along with a small professional library. Teachers are encouraged to also make use of resources available on the internet and to bring favourite resources with them.
